Machined from solid 6061 aluminum with Lamson's sealed conical drag, it's noticeably lighter than its predecessor thanks to smarter spool machining, with a bigger arbor and narrower spool for faster pickup and cleaner line stacking. This is the reel we suggest when someone buys a rod in the $400–800 range and wants a reel that matches its quality.
