Fishing Report
Utah Lake is fishing well as late summer begins transitioning toward fall. White bass, channel catfish and yellow perch are providing the most consistent action, with some walleye also being caught. Utah Lake State Park is currently reporting anglers catching good numbers of yellow perch, white bass and catfish, along with some walleye.
White bass can be found around schools of baitfish, windblown shorelines and open-water structure. Small swimbaits, spoons, crankbaits and jigs are effective when fish are actively feeding. Channel catfish remain a dependable option, particularly during the evening and after dark around flats, channels and rocky shoreline structure.
Walleye fishing should improve as water temperatures begin cooling through September. Focus on rocky points, drop-offs and deeper transitions during early morning, evening and other low-light periods. Slowly worked jigs and crankbaits are good options. Seasonal Utah Lake patterns also typically improve for walleye and schooling white bass during September through November.
